Driving Local Impact Through Youth Empowerment: Farreach International’s Engagement in Njaba LGA

On Monday, October 13, 2025, I had the honor of leading Team Farreach International to a dynamic town hall engagement with the executive and members of the Duruorji Youth Movement (DYM) in Acharaji Akah Autonomous Community, Njaba Local Government Area, Imo State, Nigeria. This follows a similar successful engagement held on September 29, 2025, with the Oma Youth Association, also within Njaba LGA.

These open dialogue sessions provided a powerful platform to exchange ideas, co-create strategies, and explore pathways for strengthening the governance structures of these youth organizations. At the heart of our conversation was the Farreach Framework—which includes the Farreach Theory and the Farreach 1 Toolkit—designed to empower youth groups to transform their communities through sustainable development initiatives and improved livelihoods.

These engagements reflect Farreach International’s mission as a purpose-driven organization committed to partnering with underserved and underrepresented youth communities across Nigeria. Our goal is clear: to enable these youth organizations to harness locally driven solutions for community development, guided by a framework rooted in impact, sustainability, and inclusivity.

Launching the Farreach Framework Pilot Testing Project (2026–2028)

Farreach International, in collaboration with our sister organization, Farreach Initiative for Development Communication in Africa, is set to roll out a three-phase Pilot Testing Project for the implementation of the Farreach Framework across Africa from 2026 to 2028:

  • Phase One (January – December 2026): Focused on select youth community organizations in South-East Nigeria.
  • Phase Two (January – December 2027): Expanding to other regions across Nigeria.
  • Phase Three (January – December 2028): Scaling to selected youth organizations across multiple African countries.

Through this phased approach, we aim to validate and scale transformative community-driven development models that place African youth at the center of change.

A Call for Strategic Collaboration

Farreach International and the Farreach Initiative for Development Communication in Africa are actively seeking strategic partnerships with:

  • Government agencies
  • International donor organizations
  • NGOs and civil society organizations
  • Social impact investors and philanthropists

Together, we can reimagine development—shifting from top-down approaches to locally led, culturally grounded solutions that tackle both local and global challenges. We believe in decolonizing international development and rethinking how interventions are initiated, designed, implemented, and sustained for long-lasting impact across Africa.

If you are passionate about driving meaningful change, strengthening grassroots institutions, and co-creating solutions with African youth, Farreach International wants to hear from you.
